1.0 Audio Masters prerequisites for Mix Facilities

  • Average loudness must be -21 LKFS +/- 5 LU measured on stereo track. Peaks must not exceed -6 db True Peak. Audio should be measured over full program according to ITU-R BS.1770-1 guidelines.

  • Standard .wav or .bwav files are required in multiple mono (not interleaved) where possible also include Pro Tools session folder. Where non Pro Tools sessions are delivered all channel must be rendered to continuous PCM audio.

48k/16bit are allowed only for alternate version of Alternate Master Version (CD, Digital, Radio edit, Promo, Teaser, .. )

1.1 Audio Master LR - Original Version and Alternate Version

  • Use 79 db SPL as your standard reference level for mixing.

  • Meet a 21 LKFS (+/- 4 LU) average music level using ITU-R BS.1770-1 measured over entire track.

  • Mantain +16 db (-6 dbfs) maximum level (true peak) over reference of -20 dbfs, achieved over peak limiting and not lowering mix level.

  • Provide LR Vocal, Percussive, Bass, Synth, Strings stems that equal the 2.0 mix when combined with the Original Version.

  • Otherwise provide Stems in “clean version”(see Stems Creation Guidelines) including a separate 2.0 stem-track with all the DPS returns that correctly matches original mix.

  • For mixers creating the Stems please reference Stems Creation Guidelines.

Note: The following are not Technical Specifications. They are guidelines designed to help achieve an optimal production library’ customer experience. Following these guidelines is not required by BNC Music. BNC Music is committed to protecting creative intent - we do not compress, limit or modify audio mixes.

For best results, measure music levels between -17 LKFS to -25 LKFS with -21 LKFS as a target. We suggest WLM Meter stereo, or NuGEN Vis-LM, which should be set to ITU-R BS.1770-1 ———————————————————————————————————————
