1.1 What It Is
LYRA Music for Tales is the catalogue managed by the music publishing company BNC Music srl. The company provides a comprehensive range of one-stop services including audio post-production for film, music production, rights management, and synchronization for the film and audiovisual sector.
The 2025 call is open to musicians, composers, independent labels, and publishers interested in entrusting BNC Music—without any exclusivity obligation—with the management of synchronization rights for their repertoire.
1.2 What You Can Do
By joining the LYRA Music for Tales catalogue, participants may receive revenues generated from the licensing of synchronization rights managed by BNC Music on behalf of the rights holders, granted to third parties such as film production companies, television and radio producers, and other audiovisual industry operators.
Applicants may submit:
-
Original, unpublished repertoire
-
Sub-published repertoire
Catalogue inclusion grants access to services including:
-
Legal consultation for repertoire protection
-
Support in editing and post-producing published repertoire
-
Digital distribution (for authors entering into a publishing contract with BNC Music)
1.3 Who It Is For
This initiative is addressed to musicians, composers, publishers, and labels who:
-
Hold a share of the authorship rights for the proposed repertoire (if accepted, authorization for any remaining shares will be required);
-
Hold a share of the mechanical reproduction rights;
-
Are not bound by exclusive agreements with other companies and/or publishers for the management of synchronization rights on the proposed repertoire;
Applications may be submitted by individuals (regardless of current registration with a Performing Rights Organization), sole proprietors, publishers, or legally registered companies listed with the Chamber of Commerce as of the application date.
1.4 Revenue Sharing
Two types of rights transfer agreements are available for catalogue entries:
A.1 – For those with an existing publisher the agreement provides a revenue split from synchronization fees as follows:
-
70% to BNC Music
-
30% to the Author
No transfer of copyright or mechanical reproduction rights is involved.
A.2 – For those without a publisher BNC Music offers a publishing agreement to selected artists. The synchronization rights are divided:
-
50% to BNC Music
-
50% to the Author
During the application process, artists may be requested to provide promotional materials such as press kits, cover art, and/or photographs to support the promotion of their music on major social platforms and the official website.
1.5 Costs
Participation in the call is entirely free of charge. No fee is required from applicants.
1.6 How to Apply
The designated contact person (lead artist, musician, agent, publisher, producer, etc.) must complete and submit the application form, including a URL link containing the proposed music tracks.
